Aorvo products are made from a range of materials — each with its own character, finish, and care requirements. This guide provides general care guidance for our indoor lighting and furniture. Always review the individual product page first, as specifications and care instructions may vary by item.

Product Page First

Before purchasing or caring for any item, please review its product page for materials, finish, dimensions, assembly and installation requirements, bulb compatibility, indoor or outdoor suitability, and any product-specific care notes.

If the product page provides care instructions that differ from this guide, the product page instructions take precedence.

Natural Variation

Many of our materials — wood grain, stone veining, metal patina, glass texture, woven tone, and finish depth — carry natural variation from piece to piece. This is part of what makes each item distinct, and is not considered a defect unless a confirmed manufacturing issue is present.

Product colors may also appear slightly different depending on lighting conditions, screen calibration, and surrounding interior tones.

General Care Principles

For most indoor lighting and furniture, we recommend the following practices to preserve appearance and longevity:

  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth
  • Wipe spills immediately and dry the surface
  • Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, bleach, and abrasive pads
  • Avoid excessive moisture, standing water, and steam
  • Use coasters, placemats, and felt pads where appropriate
  • Keep products away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat, and high humidity
  • Do not use indoor-rated items in outdoor or exposed environments

Lighting Fixtures

Dust fixtures regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Before cleaning, always turn off the power and allow bulbs and components to cool completely. Do not spray cleaner directly onto fixtures, sockets, wiring, or electrical components.

For hardwired lighting, professional installation by a licensed electrician is strongly recommended. Improper installation, incorrect wiring, or incompatible bulbs and dimmers may damage the product and may affect warranty coverage.

Glass, Crystal & Shades

Handle glass and crystal components with care. Use a soft microfiber cloth for dusting. For fingerprints or light marks, apply a glass-appropriate cleaner to the cloth first — never directly to the fixture. Avoid abrasive pads and ammonia-heavy cleaners on sensitive finishes.

Fabric, paper, linen, or woven shades should be dusted gently with a dry cloth or low-suction vacuum attachment. Do not soak shades in water unless the product page specifically states the shade is washable.

Metal Finishes

Metal finishes — including brass, bronze, black, nickel, chrome, antique, brushed, painted, plated, and powder-coated surfaces — should be dusted regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For light cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.

Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, polishing compounds, alcohol, and bleach unless the product page specifically permits it. Some finishes may develop a subtle patina over time — this is part of the material’s natural character.

Wood & Wood Veneer

Protect wood and wood veneer surfaces from standing moisture, direct heat, excessive sunlight, and harsh cleaning products. Use a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth for regular cleaning. Wipe spills immediately and dry the surface. Use coasters under drinks and placemats under tableware.

Avoid abrasive pads, steam cleaners, strong solvents, bleach, and excessive water. Natural grain, tone variation, knots, and texture are part of the material’s character.

Stone, Marble & Ceramic

Stone, marble, sintered stone, and ceramic surfaces should be cleaned with a soft cloth and water or mild diluted soap, then dried. Avoid abrasive pads, acidic cleaners, bleach, and strong solvents. Use coasters and placemats to protect surfaces from stains, heat, and scratches.

Natural stone may show veining, mineral marks, and tone variation — these are characteristics of the material, not defects.

Upholstery, Fabric & Woven Materials

Dust or vacuum gently using a soft brush or low-suction attachment. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — do not rub. Avoid soaking the material, harsh chemicals, bleach, and abrasive tools. Keep upholstered and woven materials away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive humidity, and heat sources.

For stains, test any cleaning method on a hidden area first, or consult a professional cleaner.

What to Avoid

  • Harsh chemical cleaners, bleach, and ammonia-heavy products on sensitive finishes
  • Abrasive pads, steel wool, and rough cloths
  • Steam cleaning unless specifically approved for the product
  • Standing water, excessive humidity, and prolonged direct sunlight
  • Direct heat sources and outdoor or exposed environments
  • Dragging sharp or heavy objects across surfaces
  • Incompatible bulbs, dimmers, or improper wiring
  • Overloading furniture surfaces
  • Modifying, drilling, rewiring, repainting, or refinishing without approval

Care & Warranty

Proper care, handling, assembly, installation, and maintenance are required to keep your warranty valid. Damage caused by improper cleaning, misuse, modification, outdoor use, or failure to follow product instructions is not covered under the warranty.
